These latter towns/ cities are run by their own councils and would have their own mayors. Brisbane itself is a lot larger than Sydney in area as it is run by the one council. Outlying towns / cities include, Redcliffe, Caboolture, Logan & Gold Coast, Ipswich etc. Brisbane is still the 2nd largest city in the world after another city which is also in Queensland called Mt. Isa which has a main street that could be estimated at a length that puts all others behind them in the size stakes.
