US Election 1952

Election of 1952 Summary

Harry Truman helped start the United Nations, whose goal was to prevent conflict. At the time, the UN helped South Korea defend itself from the communist North Korea. As the war continued, more American soldiers died.

Because Truman’s popularity also declined, the Democrats nominated Adlai Stevenson for the election of 1952. On the other hand, the Republicans chose Dwight Eisenhower who promised to end the Korean war.

In the 42nd presidential election, Dwight Eisenhower dominated the electoral votes with 442. If you compare this to Stevenson, he only received 89.
