Downtown Minneapolis Map
Don’t get me wrong. I love Downtown Minneapolis. But traffic and parking can be a pain sometimes. Especially, downtown at rush hour. Try to avoid it at those times. But if you’re headed to Downtown Minneapolis, go to Target Center where the MLB Twins play. It’s a beautiful stadium and usually draws huge crowds. Other landmarks are the US Bank Stadium, Walker Art Center and the Guthrie Theater.
Uptown Map
I’ve always had a soft spot for Uptown Minneapolis. Uptown Minneapolis is located southwest of downtown. It’s centered around the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Lake Street. The western area around Lake Calhoun (now Bde Maka Ska) is perfect for a scenic stroll.
Loring Park Map
Right near downtown Minneapolis, Loring Park has green spaces and ponds. The neighborhood is just a short walk from cultural spots like the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden (west side). It’s a nice little escape right in the heart of the city.
Longfellow Map
Fun fact, this neighborhood is named after the famous poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Here, you get a laid back area with its historic homes. It hosts farmers’ markets and local events. The area is also home to Minnehaha Falls with a waterfall and parks.
Northeast Arts District
Art lovers unite. OK, you don’t have to unite. But the Northeast Arts District in Minneapolis will definitely make you want to. This area is filled with art studios. Every corner seems to have a mural or an art installation. Plus, events like Art-A-Whirl showcase this area.
North Loop
This is like where historic warehouses meet trendy boutiques and award-winning restaurants. It’s home to Target Field, which hosts concerts and other events. Plus, its proximity to the Mississippi River makes it one of the sought-after addresses in the city.
Powderhorn Park
The centerpiece of Powderhorn Park is its green space. Have a picnic. Take a walk around the lake. Or enjoy a community event like the annual Powderhorn Art Fair. It’s the perfect place to unwind without leaving the city.
